Curriculum

Albury Primary School offers a curriculum which is balanced and broadly based and which:

  • promotes the spiritual, moral, cultural, mental and physical development of pupils at the school
  • prepares the children for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of later life

It is the duty of the school to deliver the National Curriculum through quality teaching and learning. From September 2014 the school will have fully implemented the the new National Curriculum. The 2014 curriculum can be divided into the formal and informal curriculum. The formal curriculum is strategic, planned and clear; the informal curriculum is responsive and unplanned. This combination ensures that children develop a core set of essential and transferrable skills, whilst giving teachers the freedom to inspire, motivate and help the children progress using a range of topical stimuli.

Curriculum Plans

With the changes being brought about by the new curriculum we are still working on producing our up to date curriculum plans. As soon as these are available they will be published here.
