Meals

School meals are freshly cooked and served on the premises and provide a well-balanced nutritious lunch as well as good value for money.  However, parents may choose to provide a packed lunch or purchase a healthy packed lunch from school.   Pupils choose their lunch each day from the Pupils’ Choice Menu offered by Hertfordshire Catering Ltd. They have 3 choices each day. If your child is going to be late arriving at school for any reason, please telephone or text their meal choice by 9 am.

Meals prices are currently £2.15 per day for KS2 children and £2.05 per day for nursery children. Children in KS1 (Reception to Year 2) are able to have a free school meal under the Universal Free Infant School Meal scheme.

Mid Morning Break

Our school participates in the Hertfordshire Fruit & Vegetable scheme.  Under this scheme children in Nursery, Reception, Years 1 & 2 are provided with fruit or vegetables every day as a healthy snack.  KS2 children are encouraged to bring their own healthy snack to be eaten during the mid-morning break, eg dried fruit, fresh fruit or a cereal bar or they may purchase a SchoolSnack voucher for 50p. This can be used to purchase a tasty mid-morning snack provided by Hertfordshire Catering Ltd. School snacks are available at morning break-time on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Milk is available at morning breaktime for Early Years Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 pupils.  This needs to be ordered termly in advance.

Drinking Water

All children are asked to bring in drinking water in a sports bottle with a leak-proof top (no glass or breakable containers, please).  The bottle is accessible to children at all times during the day and they will be able to re-fill it with fresh drinking water throughout the day.   Water bottles should be taken home regularly for cleaning.
